Sports Coordinator and PE Teacher: Julie Germaine Sport is an important element in our school culture. It helps develop fine and gross motor skills within children, not to mention keeping them fit and promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.
We are a Health Promoting School, and as part of instilling a healthy lifestyle, our students participate daily for 30 minutes of physical activity.
Daily Physical Education Policy
On top of this students from Years 1 to 7 receive one hour of PE each week. They participate in a variety of activities to develop skills:
Swimming Ball Games Cross Country Training Sprints Organised sports (Soccer, Cricket, Football, Netball, Softball) Skipping
Friday Interschool Sports In term 2 and 3 students in years 4, 5, 6 and 7 participate in Friday Interschool Sports.
There are a selection of sports to play (Netball, Football, Soccer, Softball). Students travel to the venue at a small cost.
Foundation Cup Football
Innisfail State School has a proud football history. In 2005 the Under 12 ARL Development Cup were undefeated leading up to the Grand Final held at Suncorp Stadium. The courage and determination of the boys were a tribute to the school and the dedication of their coach.
