Innisfail State School has a long history and tradition in the Innisfail area. Our school is part of the Innisfail Cane Cutter Cluster of schools.
The school was first opened on July 1st, 1887 as Geraldton State School in King George Park and in 2012 we celebrated 125 years as part of the Innisfail community. The school was renamed Innisfail State School in 1913.
The School offers an education based on character building and character education that are seen as essential components in the school’s curriculum.
Our School Expectations are expected to be lived out in the daily life of the school.
Education at Innisfail State School encompasses a wide curriculum, with a special emphasis on the differing needs of students. There is an active Parents and Citizens Association and Student Council.
The foundation for Innisfail State School activity is the School’s Philosophy Statement in conjunction with the School’s Motto: Working Towards Greater Things.
