School chaplaincy
provides social, emotional and spiritual support to the students, staff and
families connected with the school.
The National School
Chaplaincy Programme (NSCP) is an Australian Government funded initiative to
assist in the support of the emotional wellbeing of students by providing
funding for in school chaplaincy services.
The main role of a chaplain is providing social, emotional and
spiritual support to the school community; assisting in creating an
accepting, welcoming and safe school culture. Parents and staff can request to
meet with the chaplain if they wish to access this service. Students can
request access, however parental permission is required for ongoing one-on-one
sessions.
The chaplain at Innisfail State School assists with programs such
as our morning program, helps in classrooms and contributes towards school life.
Students are referred to the Principal and Guidance Officer if they
